Post-Treatment Care

Immediately after treatment:

  • there should be erythema (redness) and edema (swelling) of each hair follicle in the treatment site. Treatment area(s) may feel slightly sensitive similar to a sunburn. This can all last from just a few minutes to more than a day depending on your skin’s sensitivity level, hair thickness, and hair colour
  • You may apply a cool compress, ice pack, or soothing product such as aloe vera, aquaphor healing ointment, or biafine until any redness and swelling subsides
  • DO NOT scratch or pick at the hairs
  • Avoid sun exposure for 2-3 days
  • Apply SPF 30+ sunscreen through the course of your treatment if not for your lifetime!
  • Gently exfoliate the treated areas to help the dead hair lift from the follicle and shed
  • Avoid hot water for 24-48 hours
  • Avoid excessive sweating a minimum of 2 hrs after treatment. 24 hrs for sensitive skin
  • Avoid irritants (acids, retinoids, etc.) until redness/swelling resolves (we suggest 5 days)
